Echo (2013)
Though 'Echo' was vastly different to my plan for my film, it was perhaps my favourite of the short films watched. It was a serious, dark, naturalistic film with a plot twist and a fair amount of ambiguity throughout (and perhaps too, after). It did however, have a child actor (like my 'Double Digits'), interestingly exploring the vulnerability of children, though that seemed the extent of similarities between the two. I found the narrative structure shocking and captivating, finding the plot more interesting than its micro-elements (unlike some of the others, like 'The Arrival', which I found more interestingly from a cinematography perspective than a plot perspective). All in all, I found it to be an excellent film.
